Information
All appointments are conducted virtually using Medeo, a secure, PHIPA-compliant video platform commonly used in Ontario healthcare settings.
This page explains how your video appointment works and what to do if you experience technical difficulties.
Our Primary Platform: Medeo
Medeo is our preferred and primary platform for all virtual appointments. We strongly encourage all patients to use Medeo whenever possible to protect your privacy:
What to expect:
-You will receive a secure Medeo link by email prior to your appointment
-You can join from a computer, tablet, or smartphone
-Medeo is encrypted and designed specifically for healthcare use.
If this is your first virtual appointment or you are not familiar with Medeo:
-Check your emails to find the Medeo invitation and create an account
-Please test your device, camera, and microphone ahead of time
-Join the appointment up to 10 minutes early
-Choose a quiet, private space with a stable internet connection
If you have questions or concerns about accessing Medeo, please contact our clinic a few hours before your appointment so we can assist.
Backup Option: Zoom
(Use Only If Needed)
If you are unable to use Medeo or experience technical difficulties that prevent your appointment from proceeding through Medeo, please use the Zoom link at the bottom of this page as directed by the doctor.
Please note:
-Zoom is not our primary platform
-Zoom is not PHIPA-compliant in the same way as Medeo
-Zoom should only be used if Medeo is not accessible or you are not comfortable using it
Informed Consent for Zoom Appointments
By choosing to join your appointment using the Zoom link provided, you acknowledge and consent to the following:
-You understand that Zoom is not a secure healthcare platform
-You accept the potential privacy risks associated with using a non-secure video platform
-You voluntarily consent to proceed with your appointment using Zoom despite these risks
-If you do not wish to proceed using Zoom, your appointment will need to be rescheduled.
